PLAYISM (https://playism.com/en/) and WSS Playground (the indie game label owned and operated by Why So Serious?; CEO: Daichi Saito; HQ: Tokyo, Chuo-ku https://whysoserious.jp/), in cooperation with KADOKAWA, are proud to announce that the digital version of Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows (Microsoft Store). The Switch version will be releasing on 28th January, 2022, with preorders starting one week prior on the 21st. A physical version for Europe and North America is also being planned in collaboration with Red Art Games, with a release scheduled for January 2022.

Initially a Steam Early Access release, the full Steam version dropped in March 2021 and has since sold in excess of 100,000 copies worldwide. And finally, players can now enjoy this epic adventure on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows (Microsoft Store). At the same time, the full version on Steam will receive an update featuring full support for eight additional languages.
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth will also be playable on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service at launch.
Record of Lodoss War
Record of Lodoss War is a series of fantasy novels written by Ryo Mizuno, depicting the rise and fall of heroes and their adventures on the cursed island of “Lodoss”. Known as the pinnacle of Japanese fantasy and a pioneering work in the light novel genre, this best-selling work boasts a total circulation of over 10 million copies, as well as a wide variety of arrangements and versions in other media, including animated installments. Previous installments in the series include Record of Lodoss War, its sequel, Record of Lodoss War Next Generation, and the 2019 release Record of Lodoss War: Diadem of the Covenant.
The main characters of the story are the young knight “Parn”, and “Deedlit”, the High Elf known as the “Eternal Lady”. Together with a number of friends including priest “Etoh”, sorcerer “Slayn”, and more, they embark on an epic journey through Lodoss.
The entire series has gained a widespread and loyal following throughout the globe, with the heroine Deedlit enjoying particular popularity. In fact, it is even said that the famous fantasy trope of “High Elves having long ears” was originally inspired by Deedlit herself.
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth was developed under the close supervision of original creator Ryo Mizuno, and features Deedlit – heroine of the original series – in a 2D action-adventure setting. This title portrays the as-of-yet unknown story of Deedlit leading up to 2019’s Record of Lodoss War: Diadem of the Covenant. Not only is this a must-play for Record of Lodoss War fans, but first-time players can jump into the game easily as well.
The console version also features key art produced by “Hidari” (https://twitter.com/lleftt), the popular freelance illustrator who worked on illustrations for Record of Lodoss War: Diadem of the Covenant.
Story
Deedlit suddenly awakens in an unfamiliar place. Where is she? Why is she here?
With no one around to reply, there is only silence. Deedlit begins to wander, in search of answers...
Game System
- Use spirits, various weapons, and magical powers to make your way through a sprawling maze in this action-exploration game.
- Defeat enemies to use “Soul Stream” to power up your spirits and gain the upper hand in battle.
- Maneuver through all sorts of gimmicks using your arrows and the spirits “Sylph” and “Salamander” and their special elemental abilities.
