Having worked on videogames such as Stellar Blade, Outer Worlds 2, and Goddess of Victory: Nikke, vocalist Pernelle has established a connection to global audiences with PAON representing a new creative identity rooted in all-new stories and adventures. “I am entirely self-taught, which is what has allowed me to not limit myself to music alone," comments Pernelle. "That is how I have secretly written pages and pages of film and play scripts throughout my life, creating entire worlds, cultures, and languages. And the more time passed, the more I felt connected to these fantasies than to reality itself. Yet, as we grow up, we learn to trade dreams for reality. And it is this paradox that destroys me. PAON is therefore a project I’ve been nurturing with ideas for as long as I can remember. It certainly didn’t always have this name or this aesthetic, but its authenticity is pure. The Peacock, which embodies the infinity of my imaginary world, is a cry of the soul. It is not one of my creations; it is my metamorphosis, in all the unreality of the imagination."
