The Brazilian studio MiniGoof, founded by former developers from the award-winning studio Aquiris, which later became Epic Games Brazil, having worked on globally successful games like Fortnite and Horizon Chase 2, officially announced that their first original game, Islets Defense, will be released on June 18, 2025, on Steam, published by Nuntius Games, the “YouTubers’ publisher”. The game will also launch later on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series S/X and One, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, with a release date to be announced soon.
With a proposal that mixes Tower Defense, turn-based strategy, and resource management, Islets Defense is gaining attention for its deep strategic approach and very charming visual style. The game invites players to build villages, set up defenses, shape the terrain, and experiment with strategies across surprising and fun levels. The experience combines the tactical logic of board games with accessibility and visual charisma rarely seen in the genre.

It’s a cheerful game, visually polished, with a soundtrack we’re really proud of. “We wanted to play with new ideas, test different paths, and deliver something easy to understand but that allows for creativity and experimentation. More than anything, we’re curious to see how people will play, what strategies they’ll discover, what they’ll say. This direct contact with the audience is what motivates us the most, and we hope Islets Defense is just the beginning of many cool things to come.”

The game has no random elements, which makes it possible to compete fairly for scores in online leaderboards, rewarding creativity and strategic optimization. Despite its cozy and accessible visuals, the game requires smart decisions and constant attention — ideal for players who like to think a few steps ahead.
The title will launch as a complete experience, but the studio is not ruling out future updates and DLCs, depending on reception. The game is in its final polish phase and is expected to go gold very soon.
