MENACE celebrates 250,000 copies sold with a new update

April 1, 2026 - Hooded Horse and Overhype Studios are pleased to share that their sci-fi turn-based tactics game MENACE has sold over 250,000 copies since launching into early access in February.



To celebrate, a new update has dropped, adding in new missions, some rare loot, and the ability to *checks note* cut through wire! The future is now! Here is a full breakdown:

• New Pirate mission – Eliminate Leadership. Kill the Pirate Captain and his crew in this new final mission of the Pirate Invasion operation. IF you’re lucky, you’ll be able to claim the captain’s unique weapon and armor for yourself!
• New Alien mission – Corrupt Xeno DNA. Replacing the Hive Queen final mission, this one tasks you with corrupting a nest of xenos eggs hidden in a dense settlement. Prepare for tight corners and close-quarter combat!
• New Desert Ruins – The planet of Mock now has new environmental assets from a long-dead civilization, so the desert maps can seem a bit more varied. More environmental assets will be rolled out to other planets over time.
• Seven new 3D models for existing weapons and weapon variants for more variety
• New Infantry Skill – thanks to the renewed efforts of the Republic Education Department, Infantry squads can now use a new skill to cut through wire fences when they are standing next to them.

MENACE is available in early access for PC via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 / ¥3,980. It is also available via PC Game Pass (Game Preview).
