Little Devil expands its Steam Playtest to more players on 10 September

Combine weapons, experiment with Boons and take on Gluttony in a pixel-art action roguelike inspired by the Sega Mega Drive era.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESSEX, UK, 5 September 2026 - Independent developer Mike “MI Pixel” Armstrong-Ingram will expand access to Little Devil’s existing Steam Playtest on 10 September 2026. The top-down action roguelike combines dark humour with chunky pixel art inspired by the Sega Mega Drive era. Players and content creators are invited to test its weapon combinations, build choices and procedurally generated encounters.

The Steam Playtest includes the first procedurally generated dungeon level and a boss fight against Gluttony. Runs typically last 10 to 20 minutes. After reaching the end screen, players can return for another run with a different layout, enemy placement and build.

The current build includes a primary-and-secondary weapon combination system and a three-slot Boon system. Equipping duplicate Boons levels them up. Soul abilities, Curses and status effects add further choices, while puzzle rooms, a blood-sacrifice trial room and procedurally placed traps change the route through each run. Full controller support is included.

Players can visit Penny’s shop to buy weapons, health upgrades, Boons or Soul abilities. Attacking the shopkeeper is possible, but she will raise her prices.

Mike is looking for feedback on combat balance, weapons and equipment, the Gluttony boss fight, and whether the Vestibule gives players enough guidance. Feedback on the puzzle and trial rooms, their rewards, Penny’s shop, Curses and Soul abilities is also welcome. The results will inform continued development ahead of the planned October demo.

The Steam Playtest is limited to the first level and Gluttony; it does not include all content planned for the full game. Most music and sound effects are not final.

Players can request access through Little Devil’s Steam page. MI Pixel Ltd will begin approving more access requests on 10 September. Press and content creators interested in hands-on coverage can request a private Steam Playtest key through Fix Access. Creators are welcome to record, stream and share gameplay.

Little Devil is available to wishlist and follow on Steam.
