Hybrid Publications Launches ON3: Crowdfunding the future of print games journalism

EMBARGOED UNTIL TUESDAY 2/6/2026 9:00am BST

Bath, UK - Hybrid Publications is excited to announce that the Kickstarter campaign for ON3 has gone live. ON3 is the third volume of the luxury independent print magazine series and promises double the number of writers of previous editions while continuing the focus on boldly designed features and exceptional print quality.

Hybrid’s mission is to carve a beautiful space for timeless, thought-provoking games journalism, made to be enjoyed slowly - deliberately contrary to the fast-paced churn of the digital media landscape. For ON3 Hybrid has recruited some of the best-known writers in games journalism to deliver deep essays into video games of the past, present and future:

• Exclusive interview with VaatiVidya ON Elden Ring and Lore Bound
• Smoughtown ON Nightreign
• Keza MacDonald ON games you can touch
• Keith Stuart ON Sega job simulators
• Christian Donlan ON surprise
• Yussef Cole ON Splinter Cell and sex
• Nicole Carpenter ON Tamagotchi
• Chris Tapsell ON The Elder Scrolls

ON3 will also give a platform to the next generation of games journalists by introducing new writers, each of them mentored by an industry veteran. For much of this new talent it will be their first time appearing in print and Hybrid is proud to be able to bring their fresh perspectives to the world.

ON3 maintains the collectability of the ON series and is available in a choice of seven covers and eight luxury slipcases, as well as a stunning Triple Compendium slipcase to showcase the entire ON collection of three volumes. The Benefactor program returns, giving backers the chance to have their name and logo printed in the magazine. Truly dedicated backers can opt for the Benefactor Compendium tier where their name and logo will be specially printed on a bespoke compendium slipcase.

Fans of Elden Ring can choose the Exclusive Erdtree Edition of ON3 to receive a gorgeous Erdtree dust jacket hand-signed by VaatiVidya. The mammoth ON3: Golden Order Edition is available for the ultimate ON3 experience - a hand-made wooden casket containing all three volumes of ON: Special Edition as well as a signed Ertree Edition.
