Frostrail, Co-op Survival FPS, Prepares for Steam Next Fest Demo

Top 100 most wishlisted game confirms Steam Next Fest participation

BORDEAUX, France – Oct. 8, 2026 – Frostrail, the brutal co-op survival FPS from Barotrauma developer FakeFish and publisher Shiro Unlimited, pulls out of the station for a public demo as part of Steam Next Fest, taking place Oct. 19 - 26, 2026.

Embody a rag-tag crew of pilgrim survivors and board a train traveling deep into the post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland. Together, keep the train running and watch for stops offering potential rewards and terrors lurking within. Plunder vital equipment and materials from ruined settlements, abandoned mines, and long-forgotten crypts hold vital equipment and materials to maintain and fortify the train.

Disembark, salvage whatever you can find, then head back to the beckoning yellow cone of the locomotive’s headlight. But be prepared to fight for survival, for Lovecraftian creatures called Revenants prowl the frigid tundra. Ready weapons and carve a bloody path back to the train with bullets, teamwork, and the will to survive.

“Frostrail is about surviving the worst conditions on board your steam-powered train,” said Ez Jämsen, Lead Designer at FakeFish. “We want to give survivors a real sense of being a crew, and incentive to work together. There’s nothing quite like making it back to the train with your team and wondering how you managed to pull it off - then setting off to do it again at the next stop.”

Frostrail will launch in Steam Early Access for Windows PC and Xbox on PC with English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese language support.
