Demo of CRT7 from Scottish BAFTA winner Amicable Animal launching 3rd August 2023

Edinburgh, Scotland, 07/07/2023 - The Scottish BAFTA award-winning solo developer Amicable Animal has just announced their eagerly anticipated next game, the musical escape room puzzle game CRT7, will be debuting its first playable demo during the upcoming Cerebral Puzzle Showcase – on the 3rd of August.

Description:
An impossible object lost to time. That's what greets you when the doors open and you stare into a room you've been trying to find for years – ever since the event. Just what happened down here? It's your job to find out, but thankfully there is an old monitor glowing in the distance which looks like a good place to start... CRT7 is an experimental music-puzzle game. Place pentominoes, play music, generate power, repeat. The more you play, the more strange devices you unlock, allowing you to solve escape-room style puzzles to explore further.

Details:
The upcoming 2-hour demo will give players a great idea of what to expect in the full game as they explore a dark basement full of corrupted retro devices. CRT7 is a narrative puzzle game inspired by genre classics such as Myst and The Room series, games like Tetris and Chime, as well as shows like Archive 81 – all made by a solo developer. It aims to immerse the players in its world by utilising generative music which reacts to how you play, as well as having no traditional user interface. Instead, players will have to navigate cryptic machines, video players, and long-dead operating systems. As they do, they’ll piece together a dark narrative about power, obsession, and regret. They’ll discover hints of the obsessive creator who dwelt there, the project they were working on, and maybe – just maybe – how to help fix the mistakes of the past/future.
