Foreign Sun originally started development as a port of 2020's Biomass to the Nintendo Switch but the project grew in scope from there, becoming a standalone title with redrawn art and a new design that aims to expand the world, choice and consequence that users loved in Biomass. The game caters both to new players and to those who’ve already made the pilgrimage to the Eternal Lighthouse.
