Astra Protocol, a cult sci-fi survival game, returns in a newly upgraded remake now available in work-in-progress form on itch.io. Originally known for its minimalist footprint and brutal difficulty, the game challenges players to stay alive with only a small spacecraft, dwindling resources, and no backup.
"Your headquarters have been destroyed. Your allies are gone. You have no resources and are alone in the hostile reaches of outer space. The final words of your command linger in your memory – Initiate Astra Protocol."
Astra Protocol Remake rebuilds the original experience using a modern rendering pipeline, shader-based effects, and improved gameplay systems—all while staying true to its survival roots. Though still in active development, the current build is fully playable and open to feedback.
