Paris, France — May 21, 2026 — Developed entirely solo, the arcade arena survival game Velocide Overdrive is gearing up for its biggest update yet. On May 29, version 1.3.0 will shake up the gameplay by introducing a brand-new cooperative Boss Mode, while instantly unlocking all its cosmetic content for every player.

Designed for intense gaming sessions with friends, Velocide Overdrive has quietly established itself as a pure blast of multiplayer fun. Its chaotic and highly engaging potential has already been showcased by major content creators, ranging from prominent French streamer Ponce to popular Japanese YouTuber Fuji (フジ工房).

A New Dimension of Gameplay: Boss Mode (Solo & Co-op)

Previously focused solely on player-versus-player arena combat, the title is now laying the foundation for an ambitious PvE dimension. Pilots can now team up (1 to 4 players) to face unique Bosses, each requiring a radically different strategic approach:

  • Galleon (Difficulty: Easy / Hard): A relentless naval battle! Players must survive the chaotic ocean, fend off corsairs, and use the environment to sink the enemy ship.

  • Synthetic (Difficulty: Hard / Extreme): A pure, punishing survival test driven by a frantic soundtrack. There is no damage to deal here—memorizing patterns (in the style of a bullet hell) is your only hope of survival.

Listening to the Community: Instant Access to the Fun

Following player feedback, the developer has made a radical decision: the grinding is over. To celebrate the launch of update 1.3.0, all skins, arenas, and elimination effects (excluding the premium pack) are now unlocked by default upon first launching the game. The goal? Letting players jump into a party with friends and experience 100% of the fun without having to wait.


An Avalanche of New Content

Update 1.3.0 doesn't stop there. It delivers a massive dose of fresh content to revitalize classic arena matches:

  • 10 devastating new power-ups (including the fearsome "Annihilation" which spawns a black hole, and "Prisoner" which chains opponents to a heavy cannonball).

  • 7 new thematic arenas and 4 brand-new player skins.

  • Numerous Quality of Life (QoL) improvements and major balance tweaks, specifically aimed at ensuring flawless stability and fluidity in local multiplayer and via Steam Remote Play Together.
