The Order of the Snake Scale, an indie retro-style survival horror, is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. This Lovecraftian game is set in an alternate universe and features a mix of combat, puzzle-solving, and resource gathering. The release date is set for September 25, 2025. The title is also available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Developed by the Polish team at FM Simple Games Studio, the game debuted on PC and was later released on Xbox consoles. It now makes its way to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms. The console versions were prepared and published by Ultimate Games S.A.
Lovecraftian survival horror with retro aesthetic
The Order of the Snake Scale is a surreal survival horror experience inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Set in an alternate universe filled with primordial fear and darkness, the game features handcrafted 3D models and a distinctly retro-inspired visual and audio style.
Players take on the role of a detective investigating a mysterious death in the unsettling town of Happy Rock. The story unfolds within the dystopian backdrop of a new world order.
The gameplay is diverse, blending logic-based puzzles, enemy encounters, and resource collection. The game also includes platforming elements and interactive environments. The control scheme and mechanics are inspired by classic horror games, offering a nostalgic yet fresh experience.
