WATCH THE OFFICIAL TRAILER HERE

WHAT: Today Red Bull premiered the sixth episode of their gaming content series, uncovering the thrilling and extraordinary underground esports communities – “Other Worlds” – alongside a new episode six trailer. Following the first five episodes of Other Worlds featuring “Hades,” “Farming Simulator,” “GeoGuessr,” Lethal League Blaze,” and “Echo VR” respectively, episode six “Other Worlds: Star Citizen” showcases Star Citizen by Cloud Imperium Games, a massive multiplayer space trading and combat simulation game featuring a vast universe with numerous gameplay options. Episode six is now streaming on the official Red Bull Gaming YouTube Channel, with additional episodes uncovering new game titles launching monthly.

In “Other Worlds: Star Citizen,” host GrandPOOBear discusses the game with members from the dev team and community members. Highlights include:

  • GrandPOOBear providing an overview of the game and background with community director, Tyler Watkins
  • An exciting multiplayer Daymar Rally race spanning an entire planet. During his race, GrandPOOBear receives assistance from veteran expert Xul who guides him to the finish line.

Hosted by Red Bull gaming athlete and well-known speedrunner David “GrandPOOBear” Hunt, the nine-episode series highlights less popularized and unconventional competitive gaming, and the passionate gamers that continue to fuel their respective spaces. Just a few games get the vast majority of esports coverage, but there are countless gaming scenes fans rarely hear about. In “Other Worlds” hosted by GrandPOOBear, viewers will get a deep dive into unconventionally competitive gaming scenes and uncover the incredible communities that drive gaming at every level. GrandPOOBear will meet the people and players in the scene, learn how the communities formed and finally take a whack at learning the meta that drives the competition for each game.

GrandPOOBear is a Red Bull Player and professional speedrunner, with popular channels across Twitch and YouTube. He was previously a semi-pro snowboarder, when a career-ending spinal injury put him in the hospital. During his year-long recovery, GrandPOOBear discovered his talent for speedrunning video games. Since then, he's continually pushed the level of speedrunning competition forward as a 7-time world record holder. GrandPOOBear has amassed a loyal following and carved a name for himself as an innovative, charitable trailblazer within the growing speedrunning community.

This new series is part of Red Bull’s larger slate of gaming content launching throughout 2022, including the analytics focused content series – “Fightalytics” – in partnership with Panda Global’s PGstats.com. Viewers can watch Red Bull Gaming content series on the official Red Bull Gaming YouTube channel and Red Bull TV.

About Cloud Imperium Games
Cloud Imperium Games is a new kind of independent studio dedicated to delivering AAA games outside the established publisher system. It was founded in 2012 by renowned visionary game developer Chris Roberts (Wing Commander series, Freelancer, Privateer), Sandi Gardiner, and international media lawyer and producer Ortwin Freyermuth (Carlito’s Way, Shattered, Das Boot - Director’s Cut), with industry veteran and studio director Erin Roberts (Lego videogame series, Starlancer, Privateer) joining the team in 2013. Cloud Imperium Games is creating Star Citizen, a record-shattering, largely crowdfunded space sim, and Squadron 42, a Hollywood-caliber, story-driven single-player game set in the same universe. Cloud Imperium Games operates in “open development” – sharing progress and updates in near real time. This paradigm-shifting development process (game development usually occurs behind closed doors) gives the community an unprecedented look at Star Citizen and Squadron 42’s development and allows direct feedback and interaction between players and developers, thereby ensuring that the games being developed are what players want to play.
