New animals & Animal Interaction System plus new tools!

Content Update 2 introduces new ways to interact with the wildlife of Faremont National Park in ways that go far beyond mere observation: the Animal Interaction System allows players to free animals trapped by poachers, and to sedate and treat injured wildlife. For both tasks, the new tranquilizer gun becomes essential: It allows the players to sedate trapped or injured animals so that the ranger can intervene without putting themselves in danger. A VHF receiver also enables rangers to track down animals that have been fitted with a GPS device.

Content Update 2 also brings three new animal species to Faremont National Park - including a true American icon: the mighty bison not only leaves visitors in awe but also offers park rangers fascinating new opportunities for observation. Smaller, yet no less impressive, are the other two species now entering the game: feral hogs roam the forests, while hikers traversing Faremont’s hills and mountain slopes should keep a sharp eye out for the elusive bobcat.

Are plants more your thing?

Invasive plant species can now be removed using a root puller, while a new callout lets you restore certain areas of the park by planting new flora.

Speaking of tasks: New dynamic events and callouts will add variety to the virtual ranger’s day-to-day activities.

  • Securing traps: Reports of traps found in certain areas keep reaching ranger HQ. Find and dismantle them before they become a danger to visitors and wildlife.

  • Trapped animal: The worst has happened! An animal has been caught in one of the traps and is now in immediate danger. Track down the animal, tranquilize it with your tranquilizer gun, and set it free.

  • Injured animal: Hikers have reported injured wild animals. Find the animal and sedate it so you can examine and treat its injuries. In cases of severe injury, you may need to take your animal patient back to the ranger village.

  • GPS tracking of animals: Some of the GPS transmitters attached to animals taking part in a wildlife study are faulty or no longer needed and must be removed. Use your VHF receiver to locate the animal in question, sedate it, and remove or replace the transmitter.

  • Invasive plant removal: Invasive plant species threaten the park’s ecosystem. Grab your root puller and remove them whenever and wherever you find them!

  • Planting new flora: You have been tasked to restore certain areas of the park by planting new vegetation. Collect seedlings of flora native to Faremont and plant them in the designated spots on the map. Don't forget to visit your new plants every now and then and watch them grow!

  • Campsite cleanup: It happens that undisciplined groups of campers leave the campsites in a rather sorry state. Document the damage with your camera and reprimand those responsible at your own discretion. Unfortunately, you must close the campsites for the time being until you have repaired all the damage and cleared away the visitors' trash and other unwanted traces.

  • Visitors being loud: Some people simply need their music even while hiking. If this becomes a nuisance to other visitors or wildlife, it is your duty to locate the source and restore some peace and quiet.

  • Visitors littering: Although designated waste disposal points are available along the hiking trails and at the campsites, litter is still sometimes carelessly discarded. Remind visitors that this not only violates park rules but can also pose a danger to wildlife - and to themselves if said wildlife comes with a set of fierce claws and teeth!

Ranger’s Path: National Park Simulator is available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store for 19.99 Euro/ 19.99 USD /16.75 GBP. Owners of the main game receive all EA updates free of charge. Find out more about upcoming updates with the official EA Roadmap!
