On July 24th, 2025 at 3:00 PM CEST, Prison Survival will launch its public playtests on Steam. Anyone interested can request access directly on the game's store page and experience a gritty, system-bending survival experience from the inside of a high-security prison.
Born from community demand
The idea for Prison Survival emerged from thousands of surveys conducted with fans of Prison Simulator. According to the developers, the majority of players wanted a deeper dive into the prison world — but this time from the opposite side of the bars. Initially considered as a DLC for the original title, the concept quickly grew beyond that.
“We realized we needed to build something completely new — more intense, more open, more grounded,”
says Przemysław Bieniek, CEO at Baked Games.
“We hope the playtests for Prison Survival will deliver exactly what the community has been asking for.”
What is Prison Survival?
Prison Survival is a hybrid of simulation, survival, RPG, and action. Players must complete smuggling missions for prison gangs, navigate restricted zones using stealth and parkour, fight for respect, and manage their resources — all while trying to stay out of the guards' radar.
The prison is semi-open, unpredictable, and hostile. From tattoo culture to black market deals, from contraband smuggling to brutal fights — every system is built to reflect a raw, underground world of survival and power dynamics.
Key Gameplay Mechanics:

Receive missions from gang bosses: smuggle knives, drugs, or information

Avoid guards and cameras while traversing restricted areas using parkour

Craft or buy tools like lockpicks, maps, or camera remotes

Fight and survive the inmate hierarchy using fists and strategy

Train skills, build rep, and return to your cell before lockdown
