The Third Edict arrives with a special Free Weekend campaign running from August 29 at 1 PM PDT to September 1, 1 PM PDT.

This marks the first opportunity for players worldwide to step into Path of Exile 2 without an Early Access key on all available platforms, including PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. Get Free Cosmetics!

Players can also acquire the following exclusive cosmetics during the Free Weekend for completing specific quests: 

  • Reaching the Clearfell Encampment in Act 1: Exile’s Hood Cosmetic 

  • Defeating the Rotten Druid in Act 1: Exile’s Staff 

  • Defeating Count Geonor in Act 1: Exile’s Cloak Back Attachment

Get More Free Stuff with Path of Exile 2 Twitch Drops, Chat Badge, and a Discord Avatar!

Players can acquire rewards from Twitch Drops and a Discord Avatar by completing the following tasks: 

  1. Clam Stash Skin + Helmet of the Abyssal: Spend three hours of watch time in the Path of Exile 2 Twitch category during the first week after release and receive a new stash reskin that emanates with aquatic power. In addition, you will receive an Abyssal helmet cosmetic that will keep stats on how many Abysses you close. August 29, 1 PM PDT - September 6, 4:59 AM PDT
     

  2. Cape of the Abyssal: Spend three hours of watch time in the Path of Exile 2 Twitch category during the second week after release and receive an Abyssal cape back attachment. September 6, 5 AM PDT - September 13, 4:59 AM PDT
     

  3. Storm of Valako Portal: Support a Streamer - purchase or gift 2 Twitch subscriptions during the two weeks of release to receive the Storm of Valako Portal effect. August 29, 1:00 PM to September 13, 4:59 AM PDT.
     

  4. Chaos Orb Twitch Chat Badge: Unlock a new Chaos Orb Twitch Chat Badge for use on Twitch when subscribing to a streamer going live in the ‘Path of Exile 2’ category from August 29 to September 14 PDT.  Equip the badge whenever you want it to appear!

  1.  Eye of Prophecy Discord Avatar Decoration: Play Path of Exile 2 for 15 minutes during the first week of release to earn the Eye of Prophecy Discord Avatar Decoration.

The Third Edict marks a major transformation in Path of Exile 2, introducing extensive system changes, the game’s first exclusive League, and more: 

  • Act Four: The Karui Archipelago: Explore eight deadly islands across more than 16 new areas, facing over 100 new monster types and 12 new bosses

  • Three Interludes Replace Cruel Difficulty: Side-story “mini acts” introduce 19 new areas and 9 new bosses, smoothing progression into the endgame

  • Rise of the Abyssal League: Face fissures of horrors, new monsters, and a new Pinnacle Boss, with exclusive rewards and crafting systems

  • New Support Gem System: Expanded build options with multi-level Support Gems and 40 powerful Lineage Supports.

  • Asynchronous Trade: Buy items without requiring sellers to be online.

  • Quality of Life Updates: Including Sprint, crafting improvements, and numerous character balancing changes.

  • Endgame Expansion: 25 new maps, fresh monsters, and bosses with challenging Uber variants.
