Graz, Austria – August 5, 2026 – Pale Coins, the hand-pixeled soulslike action RPG, released v1.1.4 today on Steam. The update introduces armor transmog, account-wide blueprints, a reworked tutorial area, new experimental items, and an expanded magic gem socketing system for select weapons. To mark the release, the game is on sale for 30% off through August 10 on Steam.
This latest free update gives players more freedom to shape both their character’s appearance and how they approach a build. New players will encounter a clearer introduction area to help them learn about the game's core mechanics, while returning players can carry learned blueprints across their newly created characters and experiment with a broader range of equipment earlier in their journey.
“The change I'm happiest about is lowering the item requirements. It always felt bad that you had to grind levels before you could experiment with gear. Now you can just pick up an interesting weapon and try a hybrid build mid-playthrough. That might break some unwritten ARPG rule, but it's more fun,” said Lukas Irzl, developer of Pale Coins.
Key additions include:
- Armor Transmog – Change the appearance of your armor without affecting its stats
- Global Blueprints – Learned blueprints now carry across all characters
- Experimental Items – Unique early and mid-game items open up more build options from the start
- Expanded Magic Socketing – Magic skill gems can now be socketed into select weapons
- Reduced Weapon & Armor Requirements – 70% of gear now requires fewer levels
- Improved Freeze Status – Freeze status now slows down the animation speed of frozen enemies
- Improved Onboarding – A revamped tutorial area better introduces new players to the game
- Steam Screenshot Support – Capture screenshots with F12 through Steam
- PS5 Controller Support – DualSense controllers are now fully supported
Version 1.1.4 is available as a free update for all players.
