QUALICUM BEACH, Canada – February 22, 2023 — Veteran developer of virtual reality (VR) games, Cloudhead Games (www.CloudheadGames.com) has officially confirmed the upcoming content season for their award-winning Physical Action-Rhythm game Pistol Whip, dubbed the Overdrive Season, will begin May 1, 2023. The announcement comes in lockstep with the launch of Pistol Whip on the Sony PlayStation®VR2; Overdrive will be available on all supported platforms upon release.

The Overdrive Season will mark Pistol Whip’s twelfth free content update since its initial release, and consists of five all-new Scenes released monthly starting in May. Where the game’s early Scenes paid homage to iconic film sequences, Overdrive forges an action-fueled cinematic mythos of its own. Songs by EDM behemoths Black Tiger Sex Machine, LeKtrique, and Apashe provide the perfect soundtrack to the new neon-drenched FPS showdowns, including cyborg gladiator rings, Escher-esque skyscrapers, high fantasy battlefields, and more. These are undoubtedly Pistol Whip’s most imaginative and visually stunning levels to date.
The first new Scene, featuring the track “Shred” by LeKtrique, is set to drop in Pistol Whip’s Arcade Mode on May 1. Arriving throughout spring/summer of 2023, which marks Cloudhead Games’ 10th year, this update punctuates a decade of VR innovation and curiosity-driven development by their expert team.

The first new Scene in the Pistol Whip Overdrive Season will be available in Arcade Mode on May 1, 2023.
