About the game
Vampire: The Masquerade: Oaths & Ashes is a narrative visual novel set in the fractured vampire underworld of contemporary Berlin. Players take on the roles of two contrasting protagonists: Alice, a Ventrue operative dispatched by the Camarilla to keep the city's factions destabilized, and Lenz, a Thinblood outsider surviving on the margins of undead society. Their unlikely alliance forms the emotional and strategic core of the story.
Gameplay draws from the mechanics of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, blending a branching dialogue system with character-specific abilities. Alice wields Disciplines to manipulate and dominate those around her, while Lenz relies on a hands-on Alchemy system to brew formulae that unlock new conversational paths and abilities. Player choices ripple outward onto a living political map of Berlin, where the influence of warring factions shifts in response to every decision.
The game is designed to be accessible to newcomers while offering the depth and lore that longtime fans of the World of Darkness expect. Themes of ambition, survival, and betrayal play out across a vividly realized Berlin, from street-level gang hideouts to the upper echelons of Kindred high society.
