NEW CHAPTER FOR INDIE PUBLISHER KPL

KPL strengthens operations with move to Leamington Spa HQ and new marketing & distribution partnerships to support 2020/21 release schedule

Publisher acquires full rights to the four million-selling Pixel Puzzles franchise

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: KPL (Kiss Publishing Limited) is entering a new chapter in its history – as it moves to new offices in Leamington Spa, and reveals a flurry of new partnership agreements across games, marketing and distribution.

KPL was founded in 2017 and has enjoyed significant success taking indie games to market across multiple platforms. Now CEO Darryl Still, along with COO Gavin Cheshire and CFO Mark Boote, are raising the game into 2021 with increased ambition, a bolstered release schedule and new innovations on the horizon.

Underlining this strategy is KPL’s move to Leamington Spa, the ‘home’ of the UK’s games industry that counts some of the biggest names in development and publishing among its residents.

KPL has also acquired the rights to the Pixel Puzzles franchise – which has sold over four million units across 75 packs to date. The publisher will now be bringing a host of new Pixel Puzzles games to fans, including the upcoming Pixel Puzzles 4K: Japan, the first title in the series with 4K resolution.

In addition, KPL has appointed Limelight Interactive to head up its marketing strategy going forward. Limelight Interactive is led by Alison Greagsby, a games industry marketing specialist who previously worked at 505 Games and Activision. Greagsby will work closely with the KPL team, managing the entire marketing strategy for KPL, its releases and its development partners.

Meanwhile, KPL’s catalogue and future releases will be opened up to a wider audience, thanks to a new distribution agreement with Genba Digital. Genba Digital boasts partnerships with more than 60 publishers and 120 etailers in 150+ countries, with online retailers globally now able to access KPL’s titles via a single source for the first time.

Complementing this increased distribution footprint is a new partnership with Xsolla, which allows KPL to sell its titles directly to consumers around the world via over 700 payment methods.

“Without doubt, 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, but the team here at KPL has been busy behind the scenes putting things in place that will mean 2021 is a bumper year for us,” said KPL CEO Darryl Still.

“Our move to Leamington Spa, the acquisition of the Pixel Puzzles franchise, plus new agreements across marketing and distribution put us in a better position than ever going forward. We also have some impressive new signings still to announce, along with new innovations. We’re incredibly excited about this new era for KPL.”
