Aug. 22, 2023 – The indomitable warrior, Achel, is now available to play in action-packed, hack-n-slash MMORPG Vindictus, making him the 23rd hero to enter the game.
From NEXON America, Vindictus, now in its 13th year of service, is inviting players back to the wild frontier of Celtic mythology to experience gratifying real-time combat, epic monsters and glorious visuals. Taking place in a desolate land teeming with wild beasts, the hack-and-slash adventure features fast-paced, brutal combat which gives players the ability to customize their gear and master precise dodges and counterattacks as they join a growing guild of mercenaries to paint the battlefield with their prowess. With the introduction of Achel, the mercenary group grows as it continues to face new threats.
Achel was born and raised in the ruins of Connacht, a once great city-state, now full of danger and desperation. His only peace and light within his living hell was a small shelter for the downtrodden and its rightful keeper, Sophia. Yet, life remained harsh and unforgiving, and the only peace in his life was taken from him. With that ray of light gone, Achel now seeks out a new paradise rather than succumbing to his destiny, and joins the mercenaries in Colhen, providing even more action and thrills to Vindictus.
Exclusive Weapon
Achel uses a combination of the Hasta and the Grand Targe as his exclusive weapon of choice. The Hasta is a deadly spear traditionally used by the warriors of ancient Connacht, which consists of a long, thin body and a sharp point. Its design is specialized for stabbing consecutively, but it is long enough to handle wide, slashing arcs as well. The Grand Targe is a shield meant to form a pair with the Hasta. It is designed to not only defend against enemy attacks, but to deliver devastating swings.
Exclusive Equipment
- Lorica Musculata – Once worn by the warriors of Connacht, the notable attributes of this equipment are its breastplate, sculpted to resemble muscles, and its golden hue that symbolizes the desert sun.
- Fortis Bellator – Also worn by the royal guards of Connacht, this ornate armor was designed to showcase the hardened bodies of warriors who survived untold battles.
Skills
- Storm of Steel – Achel performs consecutive stabbing and slashing attacks with the Hasta. He can also leap a short distance at a desired moment to dodge enemy attacks while inflicting great damage across an area.
- Roots of Antaeus – Achel stomps his foot, unleashing an "Adrenaline Spike." While he is not easily exhausted while burning through his adrenaline, and can perform devastating spear attacks. He can also spend all his Adrenaline Spike to combo into "Wild Swing," a slashing attack that instantly rushes at an enemy.
- Downfall – Achel quickly charges towards an enemy, leaping up high and striking down like lightning. As the Hasta pierces the ground, a powerful explosion occurs across the surface, applying a short stun effect.
- Total Destruction – Achel's suppression skill features a powerful stab which suppresses his foe, followed by a ruthless combination of spear and shield attacks that pummel them without mercy.
Special Event
To celebrate Achel’s arrival to the Vindictus universe, Nexon is hosting “Achel’s Celebratory Package Event.” This in-game event for players with a level 10 Achel or above takes place now through Tuesday, Sept. 19. Throughout this event, players can receive Achel’s Outfit Set Destiny Box, the title of “The First Achel,” an Unlimited Inner Armor Pass (30 days) and a Storage Chest Expansion Ticket.
