Fractured Alliance Adds Snow-Covered Buildings, New Bunkers, and Eastern Alliance Artillery Ahead of Gamescom

Independent studio Tense Games brings back the spirit of the old and beloved RTS games with Fractured Alliance.

August 13,  2025 –  Tense Games has rolled out a major visual and gameplay update for its upcoming RTS Fractured Alliance. On snow maps, all buildings now automatically receive a realistic snow layer, giving winter battles a more immersive look. The studio has also upgraded its terrain tools, paving the way for far higher-quality landscapes in future maps.

Alongside the visual overhaul, several new gameplay features have been added:

  • Bunkers for rifle infantry, missile infantry, radiation troopers, and plasma troopers.

  • A long-range ballistics vehicle for the Eastern Alliance, bringing powerful late-game artillery strikes.

The team is also refining The Collective faction and has begun early balancing through regular 1v1 matches between developers.

Tense Games will be present at Gamescom 2025, meeting with industry partners and discussing future plans as the studio seeks a long-term publishing partner to help bring Fractured Alliance to release and beyond.

A spiritual successor to Command & Conquer classics like Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, Fractured Alliance blends nostalgic RTS mechanics — base building, three-faction warfare, resource node control, and superweapons — with modern visuals and gameplay depth.
