Wrocław, June 26th, 2025 - Whitemoon Games has announced a big, story-oriented update to Broken Ranks, their turn-based MMORPG. The studio decided on an unconventional solution and will show the story from the perspective of the enemy. Players will infiltrate the enemy ranks and, instead of typical heroic feats, they’ll face ever-present shadows and everyday life in the Utorian uniform.
The developers say being a Utorian recruit means not only discovering the world of the enemy from the inside - it’s also an internal struggle with temptations. Whitemoon Games will put players in the middle of an espionage mission (in their characteristic, low fantasy atmosphere) and physical battles won’t be the only clashes they’ll face…
Broken Ranks: The Other Side starts on July 1st, 2025!
The new content will be accessible for players level 70 and above. Players will see new areas, get to know the next part of the main storyline and, as the studio said, get the taste of old-school with a breath of freshness.
The Other Side adds three very complex quests to the main storyline of this Polish MMORPG. Players will be able to experience yet another chapter of a story focusing on the fate of Taernians fighting for their homeland.
Broken Ranks: The Other Side isn’t just places known from Shadow of Hope. It’s also new, shrouded in mystery or even unsettling locations, each of which is important to the story. Players will visit:
- the Gray Alleys
- the Utorian barracks
- and even the dark Citadel
Moreover, the studio said that, with the update, players will get themed skins that reflect the aesthetics of the Utorian army and the atmosphere of the new content. At the beginning, they'll be able to don the helmet (Helmet of the Silent) if they complete all the quests from this chapter of the storyline.

Broken Ranks is the successor to the MMORPG The Pride of Taern. It boasts a unique, turn-based combat system and a grim, low-fantasy world seen from an isometric view. The title is reminiscent of such classics as the HoM&M series or Baldur's Gate. Adventurers will be able to find a lot of story-driven quests and a vast, interesting world ready to be explored alone, in a group, or with guildmates.
