BAFTA-winning developer poncle Announced as the Glasgow Independent Games Festival 2025 Title Sponsor

Glasgow, UK – The Glasgow Independent Games Group CIC (GIGG) is proud to announce poncle as the title sponsor for the Glasgow Independent Games Festival 2025 (GIGF 25). A sponsor since the inaugural GIGF, poncle’s influence of indies has been paramount through the creation and support of Vampire Survivors, a genre-defining game that has received BAFTA awards for Best Game (2023) and Best Evolving Game (2025). They have also found success as a publisher, achieving critical success with their first title “Berserk or Die”.

“We are absolutely ecstatic to confirm that poncle is our title sponsor for the second year in a row!”, chimed Ryan Caufeld, Director of GIGG. “Last year’s festival was well received and a solid representation of the humble inspirations of grassroots game making. Continued support from poncle allows us to host more fun, more quirky, and more celebration for game devs through and through.”

GIGF 25 is also proud to announce Devolver Digital as the event’s first ever Launch Night sponsor. Founded in Austin, Texas in 2009, Devolver Digital is responsible for publishing the highest quality independent video games for 15 entire years. From Hotline Miami and Cult of the Lamb to Gris and Enter the Gungeon, they publish a wide variety of digital entertainment products of all styles and genres, receiving numerous “Best Publisher” awards in the process.

A spokesperson from Devolver Digital exclaimed, “Devolver Digital is delighted and/or honoured to sponsor the launch night of Glasgow Indie Games Fest 2025, a wonderful celebration of independent video games located in, objectively, the best part of the UK. We can't wait to see you all there, and we might even bring a little something along for you to play!”

Fergus Coyne, Director of GIGG, said, “The Glasgow Independent Games Festival is immensely thankful for the support of our sponsors. With their support, we’re able to return for a second year with more games, bigger performances, and greater reach in the UK. We’re thrilled to showcase talent and spirited steadfastness in a dynamic industry.”

GIGF 25 is set to take place on 9th August 2025 at the community revered Barras Art and Design Building. This year’s festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of independent game development, featuring games on numerous platforms new and old, industry discussions, and games-related art performances even larger than last year’s historic appearance. Since its inception, GIGG has supported over 200 developers, sponsors, and patrons from across the UK and beyond, earning recognition for its commitment to fostering an open and inclusive environment for games and their cultural impact.
