Astralight: Pilgrim’s Duel Opens Steam Page, Revealing a Solo-Developed Tactical PvP Card Battler

Astralight: Pilgrim’s Duel, a free-to-play tactical PvP card battler created by a solo developer, has opened its Steam page. The game invites players to build 30-card decks, choose a hero, and fight strategic turn-based duels using units, structures, equipment, spells, and traps.

Players begin by choosing one of three elemental starter paths: Fire, Water, or Forest. Each element offers a different starting playstyle and gives players a clear foundation for building their first deck.

Each match focuses on resource management, board control, and timing. Players draw cards, gain mana over time, summon allies, cast spells, set traps, and use hero skills to break through the opponent’s defenses. Victory is achieved by reducing the enemy hero’s life to 0.

The game is currently in development. Astralight begins as a focused 1v1 PvP card battle experience, with a long-term vision to grow into an online card RPG featuring auto expeditions, card collection, trading systems, co-op PvE roguelike expeditions, and social world features.

Astralight: Pilgrim’s Duel is coming to Steam as a free-to-play title. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam.

About the Developer

Astralight: Pilgrim’s Duel is built by ShootingStar, a solo developer handling the game’s design, systems, and direction alone. The project grew out of a simple idea: a card game shouldn’t end when the match does. Duels, collection, and progression could all live inside one connected world.

Rather than chase that vision all at once, ShootingStar is building it one layer at a time. Astralight launches as a tight, competitive 1v1 PvP card battler, with the foundations already laid for what comes next — auto expeditions, card collection and trading, co-op PvE roguelike expeditions, and a shared social world that connects players over time.

It’s an ambitious goal for one person, and that’s the point: Astralight is being made the way its developer wants to play it.
