WW1 FPS Isonzo receives second free update: the river Piave will run red on February 28

ALKMAAR, THE NETHERLANDS, February 9, 2023 - WW1 FPS Isonzo will receive its second update regarding the overall Caporetto expansion on February 28th. Soldiers on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S can expect various new weapons as well as the second of three new Offensive maps based on the Twelfth Battle of Isonzo. This time, they must conquer not just their enemies but also the river Piave in order to secure victory.

Watch the Piave expansion teaser here:

Just like the first part of the Caporetto expansion, the Piave update will be free for all Isonzo players. As revealed in the roadmap, this will be the second update of many to be released on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and the Epic Games Store.

Sink or Swim? The River awaits…
With this next free update, players must face the river Piave in the second of three new Offensive maps coming to Isonzo in the Caporetto expansion. Battling their Italian enemies on the dangerous hillsides by the river banks, the German soldiers must survive the treacherous nooks and crannies of Caporetto as they attempt to overcome the challenge of the Piave with all their might.

History books tell us of how, after the Italian defeat at Caporetto (24 October 1917), they retreated to the Tagliamento line. At the same time, Boselli resigned as the prime minister of Italy and a new cabinet was formed. They met with the British and French prime ministers and decided to replace Luigi Cadorna with Armando Diaz as the new Italian chief of staff. The king supported his new chief in a plan to stand firm on the Piave river, to prevent Venice from falling into enemy hands.

Now it is time for players to pave the way to victory by either attempting to build a bridge across the Piave or by preventing their enemies from doing just that. Either way, both sides will have a fierce battle waiting for them! The update will also be adding two new weapons to even the odds: the Mauser M1914 and the Beretta Modello 1917.

About the WW1 Game Series and BlackMill Games
BlackMill Games brings history to life in video games. Every project is carefully researched to provide authentic details combined with compelling gameplay within a historical setting. It co-founded the WW1 Game Series with former partner M2H almost a decade ago and officially released authentic squad-based WW1 FPS game Verdun in 2015.

Isonzo is the third game in the WW1 Game Series. Verdun led the way for authentic WW1 action with close-quarters trench warfare, Tannenberg expanded the experience with maneuver warfare on the Eastern Front, and Isonzo took it to the next level with high-altitude combat in the Alps! The WW1 Game Series throws players into intense warfare inspired by the chaos and fury of iconic battles from the First World War. The series has sold more than 2 million copies, which proves that this novel and underserved setting is popular with the gaming community!

Each game in the series is standalone and provides a different experience, reflecting the nature of the fighting in the many-sided theaters of the First World War. The games are built on a base of thorough research and receive extensive post-release support bringing new content and challenges for their players.
