March 4, 2022 — The Pokémon Company International has launched the newest expansion for the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game, Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars. It is available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and special collections at participating retailers around the world. Pokémon Center fans in the US, Canada and the UK can grab the exclusive Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, which contains additional booster packs and Pokémon TCG accessories.
In Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars, Trainers can look forward to playing with the new Pokémon VSTAR mechanic, as seen in the Arceus VSTAR, Charizard VSTAR, Shaymin VSTAR and Whimsicott VSTAR cards. Evolving from Pokémon V, these cards have high HP, and their high-damage attacks can quickly decide the outcome of the game.
Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars also features a special Trainer Gallery subset, which contains 30 cards with artwork illustrating fan-favorite Trainers and Pokémon, as well as the following noteworthy cards:
- 20 Pokémon V and 15 full-art Pokémon V.
- Three new Pokémon VMAX.
- 22 Trainer cards and six full-art Supporter cards.
- One new Special Energy card.

Pokémon fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland can also look forward to obtaining a special code to receive Hisuian Growlithe and 20 Feather Balls in their Pokémon Legends: Arceus video game.
