Inner Ashes First Playable Demo At Steam Next Fest and New Gameplay Details

Mind-exploring indie adventure is set to be released on PC and consoles on June 30, with a demo available before. 

Barcelona, Spain - June 7, 2023. Video games publisher SelectaPlay and Calathea Game Studio announced today that Inner Ashes, a first-person adventure that explores the human mind, is participating in Steam's Summer Next Fest with a playable demo that will be available from June 19th to June 26. The indie title is set to be released on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles, and PC via Steam on June 30.


 
The Steam Summer Next Fest demo will allow narrative-driven games fans to experience a glimpse of this first-person indie adventure that puts players in the boots of Henry, a forest guard diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. The demo is set in the first chapter of the game, introducing the story of Henry and the mysterious disappearance of his daughter, Enid. 

Alongside the demo announcement, Calathea Game Studio has revealed new screenshots of the game, as well as a fresh piece of art. Inner Ashes' gameplay mechanics dive into elements used to help Alzheimer’s patients to mitigate their symptoms. The player will be challenged to solve tangram puzzles to stimulate Henry’s memory and allow him to unlock key memories of his life with his daughter Enid. 
 

 
 
 
Inner Ashes is a unique and heartrending first-person adventure narrated through a father-daughter-touching story and dreamlike scenarios. Help Henry to reclaim his memories and unfold the mysteries behind Enid’s disappearance. In each scenario, players will explore  Henry’s mind depicted by several dream-like islands.
