Make-A-Wish UK launches the Wish 200 Week Charity Sale

As part of the Wish 200 Week, an event bringing together gamers, creators and the gaming industry to grant 200 life-changing wishes for critically ill children, Make-A-Wish UK is proud to launch ‘The Wish 200 Week Charity Sale’ featuring a selection of games on Steam, with a portion of each sale going directly to support life-changing wishes for children across the UK.

Running from the 14-20 July 2025, Make-A-Wish UK- the wish granting charity for critically ill children will be hosting Wish 200 Week. This week-long event, celebrating its five-year anniversary, aims to grant 200 wishes for critically ill children through uniting creators, gamers, developers, and publishers to donate and fundraise for the charity.

As part of this exciting week, from 17–20 July, the charity will host a special sale to raise vital funds and help make more life-changing wishes come true.

The Wish 200 Week Charity Sale showcases the magic and joy of gaming, in tribute to Make-A-Wish UK’s mission to rescue the magic of childhood. Providing a lifeline for families to spend precious time together.

Featured games include Thank Goodness You're Here!  from Panic, Heaven's Vault from inkle, Vampire Survivors from Poncle, Let’s Build a Zoo from No More Robots, Bassmaster® Fishing from Dovetail Games and many more. Each participating game is donating a percentage of its sales to Make-A-Wish UK.

An increasing number of the wishes granted by Make-A-Wish UK each year centre around gaming. Jason Suckley, Chief Executive of Make-A-Wish UK says:

“We’re thrilled to see the Wish 200 Week campaign return in 2025 for its fifth year. One of the highlights is the Make-A-Wish UK Charity Sale, which will directly support in helping to make more life-changing wishes come true.

For many critically ill children, gaming is a lifeline. It provides a social outlet during long treatment cycles when they can’t attend school or clubs with friends; it offers respite and distraction from daily challenges, and it opens the door to a welcoming community where they can be themselves again.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we hope to raise vital funds that will bring hope, joy, and strength to even more children when they need it most.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped make this charity sale a reality. Thank you.”

The sale will be live between 17th – 20th July 2025 via the link below: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45565804/sale/Wish200WeekCharitySale

In addition to the Charity sale, Wish 200 Week will feature a real-life version of the ever-popular game Overcooked. Supported by publishers, Team17 and developer, Ghost Town Games, and Arena Media UK. Over the course of four hours, leading content creators will be taking part in Overcooked challenges to raise funds for Make-A-Wish UK including: Dan and Phil Games, Geeky Cassie  Ebonix,  Yammy and Blackpanthaa along with former wish children and host Adam Savage and AlicesPixels. Streamed live on location at a professional kitchen and taking place from 5pm – 9pm on 20th July on twitch.tv/makeawishuk, this is one to watch.

We do not use the phrase ‘terminally ill’ and ask that you follow suit because some poorly children and young people are not made aware of the exact nature of their diagnosis, and we respect their family’s approach to their situation. Some also recover.

About Make-A-Wish UK
Make-A-Wish UK exists to grant life-changing wishes to critically ill children and their families when they need it the most.
Right now, over 134,000 children in the UK are dealing with the gruelling daily reality of life with a critical illness. When it comes to their dreams, they deserve to wish for more than a life defined by their illness.
Critical illness brings the joy of childhood to an abrupt end but Make-A-Wish UK is part of a global movement that grants life-changing wishes that have the power to rescue the magic of childhood. Wishes provide a lifeline for families to spend precious time together.
We are granting a record number of wishes yet we face a serious challenge. The demand for wishes is far outpacing our best efforts to keep up, so it’s taking longer than ever to grant once-in-a-lifetime wishes. But the heartbreaking reality is that many families simply can’t wait this long.
Make-A-Wish UK is a registered charity that was established in the UK in 1986 to create life-changing wishes that revive the childhood that critical illness often takes away. The charity receives no Government funding - registered charity numbers: 295672 in England and Wales, SC037479 in Scotland.
