BORDEAUX, France – August 5, 2026 – Wartales, the medieval open-world tactical RPG from Shiro Games, gets Community Update 7 on September 7. The free update reworks criminal activities and adds an underworld hub, three armor sets and six battle maps, and introduces community-requested improvements.
Community Update 7 builds out the Crime and Chaos playstyle around The Lair, a hub location dedicated to underworld activities. Troops that draw enough suspicion learn where it is from informants. Inside, players can sell stolen goods, take criminal bounties, buy exclusive weapons and lower their suspicion level.
The Prisoner system rework gives players more control over captives at camp and in battle. Prisoners get a dedicated skill tree, clearer needs and trust progression, and desires drawn from their individual traits. The update also adds hidden objectives that can be uncovered to affect a prisoner’s trust.
Changes to combat and character management cut downtime in and out of battle. A new “End Round” button skips the turns of mercenaries who have not yet acted, and players can cancel it any time. The redesigned character sheet requires less scrolling as it splits information across three tabs: core stats, relationships, and special secondary classes.
The update also adds three armor sets that players buy or steal from wandering merchants, six battle maps across Alazar, Harag, Gosenberg and Edoran, and personal quests for individual mercenaries, alongside bug fixes and quality-of-life changes.

Wartales’ Community Update 7 will launch on Monday, September 7, as a free download to all players. An open beta begins today for players who want to test the update and send feedback before release.
