Cologne, 20 July 2023: Tickets for gamescom congress are available now. Europe's leading conference about the potential of video games for social, economic, and technological progress demonstrates the ways in which all economic and cultural areas can benefit from games and game technologies. The gamescom congress will take place for the 15th time on 24 August 2023 as part of gamescom in Cologne. Tickets are available at www.gamescom-congress.de.

 

Covering a wide range of topics with experts from Germany and abroad, gamescom congress is popular beyond the games industry. Accordingly, tickets sold out quickly in previous years. Around 800 guests on site in Cologne and more than 140,000 live stream users attended the congress last year. The gamescom congress is aimed at experts from various business sectors as well as culture, education, politics, sciences, journalism, and game development.

 

With around 40 items on the agenda, the gamescom congress 2023 impressively presents how games can contribute to education, sciences, business, culture as well as society. Hence, the congress highlights the numerous aspects of how video games and game technologies enrich our lives. The first speakers have already been confirmed: Lisa Paus, Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, will speak about child protection in video games nowadays. Sarah Brin, Head of Product and Growth at Kythera AI from Edinburgh, Scotland, will examine the creative potentials of artificial intelligence. Sasha MacKinnon, CEO of Mino Games, from Montreal, Canada, will reveal how even small development teams can find economic success with the help of artificial intelligence.

 

The panel on antisemitism with former Federal Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger (Antisemitism Commissioner of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia), Doron Kiesel (Central Council of Jews in Germany), Cigdem Uzunoglu (Foundation for Digital Games Culture) and Olaf Zimmermann (German Cultural Council) will discuss how to fight antisemitism and how remembrance can be implemented in our lives through games.
