Echoes of Mystralia, the spell-crafting ARPG roguelite, releases updated Next Fest demo ahead of launch later this year

The updated demo introduces a new boss fight, reward shrines, puzzle-locked Rifted Echoes, improved performance,  and more, and is available now ahead of Steam Next Fest

Montreal, June 12th, 2026 - Borealys Games (Mages of Mystralia, Lunchbreak Tactics) has released a special Steam Next Fest update for spell-crafting Action-RPG roguelite Echoes of Mystralia’s demo. Released earlier this year, the game’s demo has now been updated with new spell modifiers, improved progression mechanics, an additional boss fight, and a slew of technical refinements and quality of life changes.

With the game set to launch later this year, Echoes of Mystralia’s demo introduces players to Mazarim and the magical world of Mystralia. A watcher capable of crafting all manner of spells from bursts of thunder to fire tornadoes, Mazarim must protect the Cycle of Memories, and Mystralia itself, from a rift that threatens to consume all…

Echoes of Mystralia’s spell-crafting system centres on these precious memories, acquired by defeating foes and unlocking Guardians Seals, and which can be manipulated into near-endless combinations. Spells are influenced not only by the spells and modifiers used to create them, but also by the order they’re placed in. Moving one component can transform a standard fireball into an overpowered, room-clearing fiery chain reaction. As such, the art of making spells is a puzzle in itself, challenging you to experiment and iterate with new combinations.

Taking place in the mesmerising Ash Forest, the updated demo features a new Watcher fight, Luciame, a master of wind and fire trapped in the Rift’s grasp, Guardian Seal puzzles with unique rewards, 5 new memories (perfect for crafting never-seen-before spells), better menus and inventory management, and a whole lot more. Oh, and Mazarim’s hair has been made even flowier too, for added style points in the fight against the Shadows of the Past.

More details on new demo features can be found in the latest devlog: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/974480/view/684129946245792744?l

The updated Echoes of Mystralia demo can be accessed now on Steam, and players can also join the game’s official Discord to offer feedback and meet other Watchers who have made the vow to protect Mystralia. Set to launch later this year into Steam early access, keep up with the latest news on Echoes of Mystralia on Discord, and check out the new updated demo trailer on YouTube.
