Ukrainian Developers Showcase Resilience and Talent at Gamescom 2025

Over a dozen studios and service providers unite in a growing industry showcase, with a focus on partnerships, talent, and resilience.

Kyiv, Ukraine, 5 September 2025 - After the brilliant results of the Ukrainian Games Festival 2025 on Steam, with 488 projects showcased, 2.4M page views, 23 new announcements, 24 fresh demos, 6 new releases, and over 200 games on sale, Ukraine’s game dev industry proved its strength to a global audience. It then went on to showcase its potential at Europe’s largest gaming tradeshow: gamescom 2025.

The Ukraine Pavilion at gamescom became a solid meeting point for the nation’s game development industry since its first appearance in 2023. Established studios and new startups, service companies and event organizers demonstrated Ukraine’s creativity, resilience, and potential while building connections with the global gaming community.

The main idea of the pavilion is to present outstanding projects and services from Ukrainian studios. Another key goal is to provide a platform for meetings and negotiations with potential partners. New participants join the Ukraine Pavilion each year, which reflects the growing interest in this initiative. In 2025, we had a really impressive mix of regular exhibitors and newcomers. Seeing the global industry’s support for Ukraine is incredibly inspiring. We hope our efforts will help unite our game dev community, strengthen its competitiveness, and, as a result, contribute to a stronger Ukraine,”

– Oleg Yavorsky, Business Development Director of VG Entertainment.

Participants in the Ukraine Pavilion at Gamescom 2025 included: Participant Reflections and Industry Perspective

Several participants shared their impressions of the Ukraine Pavilion at Gamescom 2025, offering insight into both business outcomes and the deeper meaning of international presence.

Ukrainian developers remain reliable, fast, and cost-effective — even under pressure. We are strong in engineering, art, analytics, and F2P monetization, with English-ready, remote-native teams in a convenient EU time zone. Most importantly, we are not asking for “support” – we invite you to partner with us for real results. We believe our work speaks not only for our studios, but for the spirit and strength of Ukraine’s creative industry.”

– Anton, Founder of AB Games.

We were thrilled to be part of the Ukrainian pavilion at gamescom this year. It turned out to be vibrant, noticeable, and incredibly eventful. We’re proud that Ukrainian developers, despite the harshest conditions imaginable, continue to create art, express themselves, and showcase their culture to the world. This is more important and meaningful now than ever.”

Gamescom once again showed its strength: opening new doors, deepening existing partnerships, and reminding us how much demand there is for agile, independent studios. That mix of hope and energy is exactly what keeps us pushing forward. As always, the best place to experience the plethora of Ukrainian games was the Ukrainian Pavilion, and we were proud to be part of the roster. Despite the challenges our country continues to face, moments like this keep our hope alive and our eyes firmly on the future of the industry.”

– Vlad Novikov, Publishing Producer at Frogwares.

Charity Initiative: Gamedev Under Bombs
The charity auction in support of the Gamedev Under Bombs initiative has become an integral part of the pavilion.

Of course, it’s impossible to avoid the topic of war. We consciously speak about the painful realities, sharing the stories of our colleagues who are now on the frontlines or volunteering. To support them, we organize a charity fundraising event in the format of an auction. Unique lots, such as hand-painted shell casings, are also showcased at our booth,
