Transport Fever 3: Industries & Cargo Revealed

Schaffhausen, Switzerland - August 27, 2025 - Following the great reception of the first ever hands-on in the B2B-area of Gamescom 2025, Urban Games has released the second episode of their First Look video series, revealing in-depth details about how industries and cargo work in Transport Fever 3.

The second episode focuses on the completely reworked cargo mechanics and industry system, highlighting how they tie into the overall gameplay experience. With Transport Fever 3, Urban Games aims to create a superb tycoon game while staying true to the beloved features of their previous titles.

Full details below. You can check out the new episode here, additional press materials can be found here.
More Possibilities, More Character
Spanning over 100 years of transport history, Transport Fever 3 challenges players to build complex empires - from the age of steam locomotives through to helicopters and modern passenger jets. This time, the spotlight falls even more heavily on tycoon gameplay and the economic foundations that underpin it.

The industry system has been completely redesigned to deliver greater dynamism. Cities evolve new needs over time, forcing production chains to adapt. Early demands may be as simple as vegetables, requiring nothing more than delivery from the farm, but later shift to products like books, which need paper mills and printing presses. New industrial chains require strong strategic planning to ensure their connection to every city demanding their products. Thriving businesses expand naturally and adapt to terrain thanks to new field mechanics, while prospecting allows players to uncover entirely new sources of raw materials on the map.

Industries Evolve With the World

For the first time, industries adapt to climate zones. There are no fisheries in deserts, for example. Players can explore four unique climates - temperate, dry, tropical, and, brand new, sub-arctic with swampy tundra. The long-requested day-night cycle completes the immersive world.

With 32 different industry types (double that of the Transport Fever 2) and 37 different cargo types, players must construct and optimize vast supply chains. Built-in stations at industrial sites ease early gameplay while demanding careful long-term planning. Offshore industries such as oil rigs now join the mix, making ships indispensable for moving goods ashore.

More Than Just Simple Supply Chains

Transport Fever 3 introduces production boosters: workers and special goods, like fertilizers for farms, can be transported to increase output. While this requires additional infrastructure, it offers a powerful way to enhance productivity.

Factories now provide clearer visual feedback on capacity and bottlenecks, ensuring players can identify issues at a glance. For those who want to dive deeper, detailed statistics remain readily available.

Total Control of the Supply Network

Unlike previous games, players now have complete control over every step of the supply chain. Specific cargo loads can be assigned to each segment, warehouses enable storage and transshipment, and vehicles and stations can be specialized to handle certain goods - boosting efficiency with the right investments. Delivery times also matter: delays will negatively affect city development, with further details to come soon.

Realistic Missions and Public Contracts

Dynamic public contracts encourage players to think on their feet. Thanks to a new heatmap system, tasks and subsidies match the current focus and geography of the player’s network. Concentrating operations in one region will naturally attract opportunities there.

A Fleet of Choices

Over 250 carefully recreated vehicles are available, each with strengths and weaknesses. Unlike in previous games, the newest model is not always the best. Cargo capacity, loading speed, comfort, and maintenance costs all influence the player’s decision to upgrade - sometimes keeping an older vehicle in service is the smarter choice.

Beyond Cargo

Passenger transport remains vital. Every citizen has a home, workplace, and leisure activities, and expects reliable service. Congestion, bottlenecks, and changing conditions constantly challenge players to optimise. Alongside this, city-building and a new player progression system add further tycoon depth, with more details to be shared in the future.

Transport Fever 3 represents the next big leap for the franchise: deeper mechanics, greater accessibility, and full support for community-driven content through extensive modding tools.
