DUSK INDEX: GION is a suspense visual novel for Nintendo Switch™, Steam®, PlayStation®5, and Xbox®, jointly developed by Cherrymochi, the creators of global phenomenon Tokyo Dark, and Bushiroad.
The story unfolds across both modern-day and Meiji-era Kyoto, and follows the investigation of bizarre murder cases that span both timelines.
In modern-day Kyoto, detective Daiki Katsuki, who relies on traditional investigative methods, teams up with the genius reclusive developer Rio Quinn, known for creating Echoes of Kyoto, to solve the mysteries.
Meanwhile, in Meiji-era Kyoto, the calm and capable detective Masayoshi Nagahama joins forces with Saki, a top geisha of the entertainment district, to uncover the “origin” of the events that continues into the present.
Two eras. Two investigative pairs. One truth. Experience a deep, suspenseful drama that crosses times and connects both past and present.

Mysterious patterns drawn in the victim's blood.
The unsolved cases cast a long shadow over history.
A hundred years later in Kyoto, Detective Daiki Katsuki was investigating a brutal murder case.
The case bore a striking resemblance to the one that had shaken Meiji-era Kyoto. The key to the investigation lay in the immersive AR experience ‘Echoes of Kyoto.ʼ The developer was the brilliant young engineer Quin Rio.
The two entered a recreation of Kyoto from a century ago to solve the case.

Through state-of-the-art AR contact lenses, this augmented reality experience transports people into a breathtaking recreation of Kyoto from a century ago.
The reconstructed city captivates many people with its nostalgia. However, as the truth behind the incident draws near, ‘Echoes of Kyotoʼ begins to transcend mere history. The boundary between recreation and reality begins to blur, and a question emerges—
Is this the work of a copycat killer?
