Press release

Put Street Soccer and Cybernetics on a date at F5, wait 200 years and out comes Super Buckyball

The soccer like gameplay mixed with overwatch-like abilities given to Rocket League players who stepped out of their cars would describe this game well. The matches are quick, and action packed and might just be what is needed on the competitive gaming scene.

Super Buckyball Tournament was recently featured in China at the 2020 F5 Games Show by 24 Entertainment. Together with F5, the game offered merchandize giveaways and was in return also showcased on the steam front page for Chinese users over the weekend.

Despite the game being in an “open alpha” stage, it already has a lot of depth and competitions has already drawn in players from more competitive communities. The game itself is not that hard to grasp, but do not expect that it will be an easy feat to reach the top players and accumulation of different characters, abilities and items you have a true challenge on your hands.

According the Studio Pathea Games, Super Buckyball Tournament is set to release next year, but gamers sitting at the edge of their seats ready to get their hands on this game is only a few mouse-clicks away. This is because of the “Open development” which basically means that the developers are making the game hand in hand with the players and as feedback and suggestions come in, the direction of the developers is constantly being steered towards new horizons.

At it’s current stage, the game already has the core gameplay down sprinkled with elements such team system, character skins, emojis, voice & text chat, missions and more. To add extra on top of the cake, over the next few months we will also be able to see “sports clubs” battle passes and other cool features.

With room for expansion the backstory evolves around a futuristic world of sports where the use of bioengineering and cybernetic upgrades have been banned in conventional athletics. This has opened room for Super Buckyball which has given the growing population of people spliced with animals and robots a chance to express themselves on the field.

There are 6 characters available in the current build:

  • Pai, the speedster who dashes around always being first to get the ball.
  • Pink, the gum-chewing street-girl with a laser canon arm prosthetic
  • R47, the brawny one-eyed robot
  • Lang, the silent type ninja robot with boxing gloves
  • Gridiron the scrapyard dude who seems to recycle garbage and turns it into weapons. (see his car door turbine gravity shield)
  • And the ocean lady Eriel who apparently runs around with a fish under her arm.

Are you convinced, then make sure to head over to Steam and download the game. And if you get a feel for it, join the Buckyball community which arranges both weekly training times as well as cash prize tournaments.

See you one the Court!!!
