Post-apocalyptic sci-fi roguelite Ovis Loop announces Steam play test 

Project formerly known as Stand Alone enters a new era with new name and limited-time playtest 

Singapore, May 30, 2025 - Prepare to battle the evil forces of Doctor Wolf in action roguelite Ovis Loop, where players take on the role of a sheep armed with a greatsword, carving a path through endless waves of vicious wolves! The game, formerly known as Stand Alone, is announcing a limited-time playtest as developers LIFUEL continue to work on the game ahead of a planned launch later this year.

The playtest times are: 

 

  • 29 May 22:00 – 5 June 12:00 (EDT) / 30 May 03:00 – 5 June 17:00 (BST)

 

Mashing up life on the farm with life in the cybernetic future, Ovis Loop promises fluid, kinetic combat against the backdrop of a gorgeous pixel art aesthetic. Uncover the story behind an AI robot that lost its memory and was turned into a sheep on a mission to save itself - and the world - from hordes of hungry wolves. 

 

With each boss monster taken down, more is revealed about the world of Ovis Loop and the origin story of its woolly warrior. 

 

Modify skills within the desolate worlds of a sci-fi apocalypse to create a unique combat style, using the game's deckbuilding elements to play differently each time. Instead of simply getting and using new skills, players can transform them using their hacking abilities on their path to becoming the top of the food chain.

In this round of testing, we’re excited to introduce brand-new exclusive boss modules, combat and control optimisations, improved UI and controller support, plus even more story and system content—everything you need for a richer, smoother gaming experience!"

Ovis Loop is available now from 29 May 22:00 – 5 June 12:00 (EDT) / 30 May 03:00 – 5 June 17:00 (BST) for a limited-time playtest on Steam. Visit the Steam page today to wishlist the game and apply to join the playtest for free. Click Request Access to sign up for the playtest, and approved applicants will receive a notification email from Steam once the test is live.
