Leipzig, August 2025 – With fresh energy and innovative ideas, Polynormal Games UG, an indie studio founded in February 2025 in Saxony, is entering the games industry. The studio is led by Lars Bönsch, developer with a background in science, open source, and inclusion work focusing on neurodivergence, and Vu Dieu Linh, former Lead Release Manager at Plaion. Polynormal Games aims to reflect the diversity of society in its games.
The young company is already making history: Polynormal Games is the first business to receive the new Sächsische Aufbau Bank (SAB) start-up funding within an accelerator program – a grant of €30,000 specifically designed to support new business ventures in Saxony. This funding was made possible through participation in the R42 Games Accelerator Program, which helps emerging developer teams establish themselves in the industry.
The funds are being invested directly into the development of the studio’s first title: "Frame of Mind – A game of thoughts". This narrative single-player experience places a neurodivergent main character at its center and tells a poignant story about mental health.
Curious visitors can experience the game first-hand at Gamescom 2025: "Frame of Mind - A game of thoughts" will be playable at the Home of Indies booth in Hall 10.2 Booth E10-D11, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in the protagonist’s world of thoughts.
