Out and About is a wholesome game that brings the outdoors inside. Explore vibrant biomes and befriend characters inspired by real-world influencers from the foraging world. Connect with nature by foraging, gardening, crafting, and cooking, then try out your new skills in the real world!
Every recipe discovered in Out And About uses the same ingredients and resources as in the real world. The step-by-step methods add gameplay mechanics and replicate the steps from the real world. The wide range of plants and fungi you’ll discover come with factual cards, allowing you to learn the skill in-game and practice it in real life.
Unlocking a plant or recipe inside the game will enable players to access accurate information, identifiers, and step-by-step recipes via Out And About’s companion website. Accessible through PC and mobile, the companion website allows players to learn and recreate real-life experiences from the game!
Helping to repair your childhood town, players will form friendships with its residents, who are slowly coming together as a community striving for sustainability. Work hand-in-hand with the residents to restore the town and make it self-sustaining. Upgrading the town unlocks new game mechanics, including a market to sell your plants at, a craft shop to create upcycled furniture in, and a cafe to help support with locally sourced recipes and ingredients.
Over the past three months, Yaldi Games has been working with some of the leading influencers from the world of foraging. These influencers have been integrated into the game and will offer their own unique quest lines and recipes to learn. The influencers include SpicyMoustache, ChaoticForager, FindersFeeders and MayaKindaMischief.
A customisation demo is available for Out and About via the Steam demo store. Out and About will be released on PC via Steam Early Access and Epic Game Store in Q1 2024, a Nintendo Switch release is confirmed for a later date. Developer Yaldi Games is running a Kickstarter campaign for Out and About, with over 240% funding. You can wishlist Out and About now on Steam.
