August 1st 2025 - USA GameSetBoy announces a Kickstarter for the PC game Leopold Kills a God, a parody RPG that harkens back to the days of the original Game Boy. It is inspired by the Mother series, Undertale, and retro games like Final Fantasy Legend 2 for the Game Boy.
Leopold Kills a God is an RPG that parodies common tropes and plotlines of older RPGs, such as dealing with gods or god-like characters, but in mundane settings. It features adjustable difficulty and turn-based combat that encourages players to think about their choices in battles. It also includes numerous sidequests and optional content to give players a sense of exploration and a fully formed world that Leopold can traverse.
Gorgeous Game Boy-styled pixel art is the name of the game here. Everything in the game is able to run on the original Game Boy because the art has been specifically developed with Game Boy specifications in mind. This way, a Game Boy version of the game could actually become a reality with the right level of funding!
