Indie game developer Daruma to Akabeko announced on April 21, 2026 that the Epic Games Store page for Instantale, an AI-driven roguelike RPG, is now live. The game is scheduled for release in Summer 2026.

Instantale is a roguelike RPG in which people, places, items, and events are dynamically generated and processed through generative AI. There is no prewritten story. Instead, players experience the life of an adventurer in a harsh and realistic world filled with danger and hardship, making their own decisions through free-form input until they die or reach the end of their natural lifespan.
== BACKGROUND ==
Instantale previously gained more than 15,000 wishlists on Steam and was preparing for release there. However, shortly before the public release of its demo, distribution on the platform was halted due to Steam’s policy regarding the use of live AI. Development continued after that setback, and the game has now passed review for the Epic Games Store, where its release has officially been confirmed.

1. A World Generated by AI
Powered by a large language model, Instantale dynamically generates places, people, objects, and the relationships between them in ways that carry meaning within the game world. Each player creates their own unique character, explores a different world, and experiences a story that belongs only to them.

NPCs do not rely on fixed lines or dialogue trees. Instead, they converse and act through language model processing, allowing players to interact with them more naturally. Dungeon events, combat, and quests can all change depending on the player’s natural-language input.
3. A Harsh World, Limited Lifespan, and Repeated Lives
Instantale is set in a harsh and realistic RPG world with a high level of difficulty where death is always a possibility. Player characters eventually grow old and reach the end of their lifespan. After death, some of the assets from that life can be inherited, allowing the player to begin a new one.
