Extinction Day Gets New Game Mode in Limited Time Next Fest Demo

Unleash Global Warfare and watch it consume the world in the latest demo for the upcoming Doomsday Sim from the developers of cult hit Bio Inc!

Montreal, October 9, 2025 - After a successful initial reveal in July - which yielded over half a million views on YouTube in less than 48 hours - DryGin Studios’ upcoming doomsday sim Extinction Day is heading to Steam Next Fest with a brand new gameplay mode!

Alongside allowing players to wipe out humanity in the Global Extinction scenario, the updated demo for Extinction Day lets you test out the new warfare disaster. This new mode introduces a variety of additional mechanics and plays completely differently from the previous ones, making it a great addition for both newcomers to the game and Extinction Day veterans. The demo is already available on Steam, and will remain playable until the 24th of October.

Developed by the same team behind Bio Inc, Extinction Day once again puts destruction right at your fingertips. While Bio Inc focused on a single unsuspecting human, your goal is now to wipe out humanity as a whole! Harness the power of natural disasters, biohazards, political events, tragedies, viruses, catastrophes and more as you try to turn the whole world into rubble. Combine multiple disasters to create lethal chain reactions and watch as your creation adapts and evolves based on your choices. The full version of the game will include a story-driven campaign with multiple ways to end the world, as well as a sandbox mode that removes all restrictions and lets you unleash any combination of disasters at will!

Extinction Day is currently set to be released in Q1 2026, with more details about the release of the game to be announced soon! Commenting on the development of the game and the new demo, the team said: “we believe there is a powerful fascination with doomsday and cataclysmic events. Our goal was to capture the spirit of those epic 2000s disaster movies such as Independence Day, Twister, and 2012, and transform that cinematic chaos into a fresh and unique gaming experience.”.
