Hunting Simulator Virtual Hunter Stalks 20,000 Wishlists Mark As It Inches Closer to Meta Quest and PSVR2 Release

Over 19,500 people have signed in to join the hunt when the realistic simulation goes live on PlayStation VR2 and Meta Quest on May 27th, 2026.

Oulu (FI) May 7th, 2026 - Less than a month since hitting its 10K milestone, developer Korpi Games and publisher VRKiwi are happy to announce that the PSVR2 and Meta Quest versions of Virtual Hunter have now been wishlisted over 19,500 times in total on the PSVR and Meta Quest stores!

Scheduled to launch on May 27th, 2026,  the game brings on the tried-and-tested formula of the most realistic VR hunting simulation that already made Virtual Hunter a hit on PCVR. Just like its Steam counterpart, the new platforms give players full control and freedom to approach hunts as they see fit. Players will be able to work alone or team up with up to 5 other hunters (for a total of six players) to explore and stalk prey throughout the massive, 64 km2 open-world environments.

This results in a hunting experience unique in its genre, which lets you shape each hunt to fit your style. Choose among realistic weapons including rifles, shotguns, pistols and bows, head into the open fields, and track your target through full day-night cycles as you work your way through different terrains and adapt to realistic animal behavior. Then, bring each kill back to the Lodge and leverage the game’s one of a kind trophy mount system - which lets you freely turn every animal into a trophy you can mount throughout your home to show off your prowess.

On PSVR2, the hunting simulator merges the iconic features of its Steam version with headset-specific functionality to bring the hunt to the next level! The PSVR2 version of Virtual Hunter leverages the headsets’ haptics to simulate 3D environments and nearby obstacles for increased immersiveness while out in the field. The game also makes use of PSVR2 adaptive triggers technology for more realistic weapon handling and firing!

The Meta Quest version, instead, focuses on technical optimization and polishing. Virtual Hunter on Quest will deliver large-scale environments with high foliage density, long render distances, and cross-play multiplayer with voice chat. The world is just as big and open as everywhere else, and graphically it has been kept as close to other platforms as possible.

Virtual Hunter’s arrival on PSVR2 and Meta Quest is the end of a long journey for the game from Early Access, Full Release and several major updates on Steam. Few creators have had access to play the PSVR2 version in advance and MonarchXR is speaking of his experience playing the game: “Virtual Hunter is the ultimate VR hunting game! I've been on the search for a proper game to go out and hunt in VR, and the team behind Virtual Hunter truly delivered. From actually having to track down your target to the sheer variety of weapons and animals to hunt, the team has crafted a true hunting simulator that should satisfy most outdoorsy types”.
