July 17, 2025 - Los Angeles, CA - Twin Earth has released a major update for Castle Craft, the physics-driven fortress defense sandbox game that blends construction, strategy, and destruction currently in Early Access on Steam.
Titled the Economic Zone Update, this patch introduces powerful new mechanics that give players greater control over their growing kingdoms, alongside long-awaited quality-of-life improvements, a suite of bug fixes, and a first look at the game’s future roadmap.
Central to this update is the introduction of Quarters and Barracks, new economic zone buildings that allow players to significantly expand their minion and platoon caps. These structures empower players to build larger workforces and stronger defenses, opening up even more strategic options for customizing their castles and fending off incoming waves.
The update also brings a wide range of minion improvements, including smarter builder logic, better distribution across zones, a new build queue UI, and the ability for minions to navigate narrower paths. Visual customization has been enhanced with more distinct appearances, and new icons now clearly indicate what each minion is up to…whether they’re hard at work or just taking a well-earned break. Minions deserve breaks too, y’know.
Fans of King Debimius will be delighted to hear that voice actor Paul Delaross, known for his unforgettable performance in the Castle Craft trailer, now brings the character to life in-game with a full voiceover debut!
Additional features include:
-
A new back-to-kingdom button in the settings menu
-
Significant performance boosts for large zones
-
Prefabs now show cleaner status displays
-
Numerous balance adjustments, such as increased difficulty in early waves and food costs for friendly platoons
The patch also fixes a long list of pesky bugs - from floating trees and invisible soldiers to digging glitches and UI errors. Although who’s really to say what’s a feature vs. a bug?
In celebration of the update, the official Castle Craft soundtrack by composer José Pavli is now available. Known for his cinematic compositions, Pavli’s score adds depth and atmosphere to the game, and now players can enjoy it both in and out of the game.
This update is just one step on a larger path. Twin Earth has also revealed the official Castle Craft roadmap, outlining upcoming features like a new UI selection wheel, item equipment systems, and more. While milestone dates haven’t been finalized, all updates are expected to arrive before the end of the year.
